Job description

The Security Guard is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of guests, employees, and property within the casino. This role involves monitoring activity, enforcing policies, responding to incidents, and maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment while providing excellent customer service.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Patrol casino floor, entrances, exits, and outside surrounding areas to ensure a secure environment.
  • Greet guests and provide assistance or directions as needed, maintaining a professional presence.
  • Respond promptly to disturbances, medical emergencies, accidents, and other incidents.
  • Complete detailed and accurate incident and activity reports.
  • Maintain logs and/or records during scheduled shift.
  • Check guests’ ID’s and observe suspicious of employees and guest and reports such activity to the Security Supervisor.
  • Escort guests or employees when necessary for safety or operational purposes.
  • Observe drop team, verify jackpots, or other sensitive assets, areas, and procedures in accordance with policy.
  • Assist in monitoring access to restricted areas.
  • Maintain knowledge of gaming regulations, company policies, and emergency procedures.
  • Assist in keeping the casino floor clean by pushing in chairs, picking up cups, emptying ash trays, etc.
  • Attend all necessary training and departmental meetings as required.
  • Maintains a professional work environment with casino guests, management, and staff.
  • Must meet the attendance guidelines of the job.
  • Must adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
  • Must uphold and promote a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Performs all other tasks or duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, the requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age upon employment.
  • High school diploma or its equivalent required.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
  • Must have the ability to deal effectively with and interact well with others.
  • Must be able to be approved for and maintain a valid Key license through the OGC.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Must be able to stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift 30lbs.
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights, and dust.
  • Demonstrate physical endurance and a positive mindset while performing effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
