Job summary

Colusa Casino Resort is seeking a security professional to provide superior guest service while ensuring a safe, honest gaming environment. You will observe and report violations, patrol the property, and promote safety across all areas.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, prior security experience preferred, and CPR/AED and TIPS certifications. You must pass a gaming license background check and maintain a valid driver’s license.

  • Remain calm in stressful situations.
  • Ensure compliance with gaming rules, policies, and internal controls.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job description

Position Summary

Provide superior guest service to both internal and external guests while ensuring an honest, safe and secure gaming experience in a pleasant environment. Observe and report violations to the immediate supervisor and take the appropriate actions. Patrol and promote safety throughout the facility and properties.

Essential Functions
  • Respond to emergency calls and situations throughout the property.
  • Provide protection of the casino assets, including guests and employees.
  • Provide guest service consistent with departmental standards.
  • Maintain a professional, friendly appearance and demeanor at all times.
  • Follow directions of Security Supervisors, Lead Supervisors, Managers, and Directors in a timely and professional manner.
  • Remain calm in stressful situations.
  • Document events concisely and accurately in chronological order in a report.
  • Ensure that gaming rules, casino policies and procedures, internal controls, and MICS are followed and document any violations.
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Graduate or GED required.
  • Previous security experience preferred.
  • Computer skills: Word and Excel desired; basic typing skills required.
  • Must pass background for Gaming License, CPR / AED training, and TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures). Should retain a valid driver license.
  • Fire suppression training and Title 31 training.
  • Incident documentation and report writing skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Patience, common sense, and sense of humor.
  • Equipment and tools: black belt (plain leather), black polish‑able shoes capable of taking a shine, black slacks/dress pants (no holes, not faded, no jeans).
Work Environment and Physical Demands

Works in a well‑lit area frequently; works in a temperature‑controlled office environment occasionally. Works outdoors frequently (subject to heat, cold, and rain); exposure in a smoke‑filled and noisy environment frequently. Must be available to work weekends, any shift and holidays.

Physical demands: stand and walk constantly; sit frequently; handle, reach outwards, reach above shoulder occasionally; climb, crawl occasionally; squat and kneel frequently; bend frequently; lift/carry frequently up to 20 lbs., occasionally up to 50 lbs.; push/pull frequently up to 20 lbs., occasionally up to 100 lbs.; jog occasionally.
