Job summary

Northwood Space is seeking an experienced Security Engineering Lead to design, build, and own security infrastructure across ground stations, cloud, and corporate systems. You will lead SIEM and EDR deployments, enforce robust network security, and drive secure deployments in AWS GovCloud and GCC while mentoring a growing security team.

You will define security architecture, develop detection content, and guide incident response in a high-sensitivity environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of security engineering or DevSecOps with leadership experience.
• Hands-on SIEM experience: log ingestion, detection rule development, alert management.
• Experience deploying and managing EDR in production.
• FortiGate firewall administration and network segmentation proficiency.
• Experience in AWS GovCloud and Microsoft GCC environments.
• Infrastructure as Code tooling (Terraform, Ansible) for security infra.
• Okta administration including SSO, MFA, lifecycle management, and SIEM integration.
• Familiarity with defense/government compliance (CMMC, NIST 800-171, FedRAMP).
• US citizenship or equivalent and ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance (ITAR compliance).

Responsibilities

• Own the full lifecycle of the SIEM platform from architecture to alerting.
• Operate and tune EDR, including policy management and SIEM integration.
• Develop detection content, incident response playbooks, and SOC processes for a distributed environment.
• Integrate security tooling with infrastructure through APIs and automation.
• Lead UEBA use cases and risk scoring with the SOC to surface insider threats.
• Collaborate with product infra teams to embed security in architecture from ground up.
