Job summary

Northwood Space seeks a Security Engineering Lead to design, build, and own the security stack for ground stations, cloud environments, and corporate systems. You will lead SIEM/EDR, UEBA, firewall, and secure deployments across on‑prem and AWS GovCloud/GCC, while mentoring a growing team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in security engineering or DevSecOps with leadership.
• Hands-on SIEM: log ingestion, detection rules, alert management.
• Experience deploying and managing EDR in production.
• FortiGate administration, firewall policy and segmentation.
• Experience with AWS GovCloud and GCC environments.
• IaC tooling with Terraform/Ansible for security infra.
• Okta administration including SSO, MFA, lifecycle, SIEM integration.
• Familiarity with CMMC, NIST 800-171, FedRAMP compliance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance; U.S. citizenship or lawful status.

Responsibilities

• Own full SIEM lifecycle: architecture, log onboarding, correlation rules, tuning, and alerting.
• Operate and maintain EDR, including agent deployment and policy management.
• Develop detection content, incident response playbooks, and SOC processes.
• Automate security tooling integration via APIs; reduce operational toil.
• Lead UEBA capabilities: baselines, rules, and risk scoring with SOC.
• Manage FortiGate firewall infrastructure; segment networks and firmware.
• Administer Cloudflare VPN and ZTNA configurations for secure access.
• Deploy security across on‑prem, AWS GovCloud, and Microsoft GCC.
• Design and enforce DLP policies across endpoints, networks, and cloud.
• Oversee Okta IAM integrations; ensure secure identity across systems.
• Champion IaC practices and write automation scripts (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Mentor security engineers and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
• Support regulatory reviews and apply CMMC/NIST/FedRAMP guidance.
