Job summary

SeatGeek is seeking a Security Engineering Intern to join our security team in New York. You will gain hands-on experience across threat modeling, detection engineering, and incident response within a cloud-native environment.

You’ll review code, build security tools, and help strengthen SeatGeek’s security posture. You’ll work with AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, and security tooling while learning from engineers.

Qualifications

• Graduating spring/summer 2028.
• Proficiency in Python, C#, Go; coding interview.
• Ability to think like an attacker to identify vulnerabilities.
• Understanding of secure software development and threats.
• Curiosity and desire to learn how things work.
• Preferred: security community contributions.
• Preferred: automation and scaling security tasks.
• Preferred: familiarity with microservices, Kubernetes, AWS.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering teams to provide security guidance on new products.
• Assist in threat modeling and architecture reviews for features.
• Participate in security assessments through basic testing and code reviews.
• Promote secure coding practices with developers.
• Enhance security controls to harden AWS environments and improve visibility.
• Contribute to automation and tooling that scale security.
• Support incident response by identifying vulnerabilities and tuning detections.
• Participate in Purple team exercises to understand offense and defense.
