Job summary

Labelbox is seeking a Security Engineering Intern in San Francisco. You will work closely with the security team, gaining hands-on experience across cloud security, application security, SecOps and compliance workflows.

You'll receive direct mentorship and contribute to improving our security posture and tooling, while learning to scale security for our enterprise services in a dynamic, high-agency environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in cybersecurity, CS, IT or related field.
• Demonstrated interest in cloud security, data security and security operations.
• Strong ownership, initiative and ability to tackle complex technical problems.
• Basic understanding of cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure) and SQL/data warehousing.
• Ability to integrate modern AI tools and LLMs into workflows to improve efficiency.
• Strong analytical, organizational and time-management skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication with documentation.
• Curiosity and eagerness to learn across security engineering areas.

Responsibilities

• Triage and analyze incoming security issues; operate the vulnerability management program.
• Improve access workflows in identity and access management systems.
• Audit and refine access controls for data platforms and cloud resources.
• Strengthen CI/CD security with automated checks for secure development practices.
• Operate and optimize SIEM; tune alerts and enhance log ingestion.
• Support major internal security initiatives, including tabletop exercises.
• Evaluate enhancements to the security tool stack and document findings.
