Job summary

Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP is seeking a Security Engineer to strengthen the firm’s information security operations, protecting systems and data by maintaining controls, supporting incident response, and promoting secure practices across the organization.

The ideal candidate will assess risk, recommend improvements, and collaborate with IT and business teams to enhance the firm’s security posture with hands-on experience in CrowdStrike Falcon and Microsoft security technologies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in IT security in a Microsoft Windows and enterprise environment.
• Hands-on CrowdStrike Falcon experience.
• Experience implementing, administering, or monitoring EDR and MDR solutions.
• Knowledge of security monitoring, threat hunting, vulnerability management, and incident response best practices.
• Minimum of 2 years of network security experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently in a hybrid setting.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Information Systems/Cybersecurity.
• Certifications such as CISSP/GIAC or Microsoft Security a plus.

Responsibilities

• Establish, monitor, and enforce security policies, procedures, and controls across the firm’s IT environment.
• Maintain security infrastructure and tools, including endpoint protection, detection and response platforms, vulnerability management solutions, and related security controls.
• Investigate security alerts, determine root cause, and coordinate timely remediation.
• Monitor security risk trends and recommend updates to policies, practices, and tools.
• Coordinate protective measures, including system scans and follow-up remediation.
• Provide practical security guidance to IT and business teams.
• Support security awareness initiatives and training.
• Maintain critical access information and related security records.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
