Job summary

Ascend Learning, LLC is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to lead information security efforts across programs, providing expert guidance on CrowdStrike platforms and security operations to meet IT security and regulatory standards.

You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, design and implement detection strategies, tune Falcon configurations, and respond to incidents while enabling remote work within the United States.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional experience in cybersecurity, network security, and/or infrastructure engineering.
• Experience with CrowdStrike AI‑driven features and behavioral detections in production.
• 5+ years of CrowdStrike policy administration, IOAs, workflows, and scheduled searches.
• CrowdStrike certifications preferred.
• Strong experience supporting Security Operations and Incident Response teams.
• Experience in enterprise environments with diverse endpoint operating systems and configurations.
• Ability to streamline processes and automate tasks.
• Self-motivated, adaptable and able to manage time-sensitive incidents.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with Technology Engineers, Developers, IT Compliance, and stakeholders to align security requirements with business objectives.
• Acts as SME for the CrowdStrike platform including Falcon, Fusion SOAR, Identity Protection, LogScale, and SIEM.
• Designs and maintains Indicators of Attack (IOAs) aligned to evolving threat activity and risk.
• Configures Falcon workflows, responses, and policy logic to improve detection and response speed.
• Tunes Falcon detections to minimize false positives while maintaining coverage.
• Performs deep-dive investigations using endpoint telemetry and behavioral indicators.
• Documents engineering decisions and best practices to ensure operational continuity.
• Assists with implementation, configuration, and operation of security tools.
• Triages SOC alerts and phishing emails and participates in a limited on-call rotation.
