Job description

Reporting to the Threat Detection Manager, the Security Engineer will collaborate with teams including cyber threat intelligence analysts, SOC analysts, threat detection engineers, server and network administrators, security tool administrators, and department customers. The role requires experience in incident response and understanding of security log feeds mapping into the SIEM.

You will:

• Understand data feeds from multiple security tools and logs feeding the SIEM & UEBA technologies. Identify capabilities and quality of these feeds and recommend improvements.
• Create new use cases based on threat intelligence, analyst feedback, available log data, and previous incidents.
• Perform activities in the content lifecycle, including creating, testing, tuning, and removing use cases, and maintaining documentation.
• Improve vulnerabilities across different application environments.
• Collaborate with security teams and product SMEs to identify capability gaps.
• Develop parsers and field extractions for reliable content development.
• Create custom scripts to enhance SIEM functionality.
• Participate in root cause analysis of security incidents and recommend new data sources and enrichment methods.

Experience and Skills

Qualifications:

• 5+ years in security engineering or site reliability engineering.
• Proficiency in Terraform and experience with Cloud Migration.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines for Infrastructure as Code.
• Programming/scripting skills in Python or Golang.
• Expertise in ETL onboarding for diverse log technologies.
• Support experience with Splunk platform administration, dashboards, and use cases.
• Development of REST APIs for external data capture.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
• Understanding of multiple log formats and source data for SIEM analysis.
• Solid background with Windows and Linux platforms.
