Job summary

Wafer is the fastest inference cloud for open source models. We are seeking a hands-on security engineer to secure the systems powering our inference cloud.

You will code, review designs, and own fixes, collaborating with engineers to embed security into how we design, ship, and operate software. You will review designs for authentication, authorization and data handling, build controls for identity and secrets, and partner with infrastructure on private networking and secure cloud

Qualifications

• Experience building and securing production software or cloud infrastructure.
• Strong programming and debugging skills with ability to ship fixes.
• A practical understanding of security, cloud identity, Linux, networking and secrets management.
• A good sense of risk, prioritization, and clear reasoning for protections.

Responsibilities

• Review application, API and infrastructure designs for authentication, authorization, tenant isolation and data-handling risks.
• Build and improve controls for identity, least-privilege access, secrets and service credentials.
• Partner with infrastructure engineers on private networking, workload isolation and secure cloud configuration.
• Find, prioritize and fix vulnerabilities, and verify remediation addresses the root issue.
• Improve security logging, detection and incident response, including practical tools and automation.
• Make secure development easier through design reviews, code reviews and automated checks.
• Work with our compliance owner to provide technical evidence for audits and customer reviews, and implement required engineering changes.
