Job summary

Wafer is the fastest inference cloud for open source models. We are seeking a hands-on security engineer to secure the systems powering our inference cloud.

You will code, review designs, and own fixes, collaborating with engineers to embed security into how we design, ship, and operate software. You will review designs for authentication, authorization and data handling, build controls for identity and secrets, and partner with infrastructure on private networking and secure cloud

Qualifications

• Experience building and securing production software or cloud infrastructure.
• Strong programming and debugging skills with ability to ship fixes.
• A practical understanding of security, cloud identity, Linux, networking and secrets management.
• A good sense of risk, prioritization, and clear reasoning for protections.

Responsibilities

• Review application, API and infrastructure designs for authentication, authorization, tenant isolation and data-handling risks.

• Partner with infrastructure engineers on private networking, workload isolation and secure cloud configuration.

Wafer is the fastest inference cloud for open source models.

We're looking for a hands-on security engineer to help secure the systems behind our inference cloud. You'll work directly with engineers to find weaknesses, build practical protections and make security part of how we design, ship and operate software. This is an engineering role: you'll write code, review designs and own fixes.

What you'll do

• Review application, API and infrastructure designs for authentication, authorization, tenant isolation and data-handling risks.

What we look for

• Experience building and securing production software or cloud infrastructure.

• Strong programming and debugging skills, with the ability to investigate unfamiliar systems and ship reliable fixes.

• A practical understanding of application and API security, cloud identity, Linux systems, networking and secrets management.

• Good judgment about risk and tradeoffs. You can prioritize meaningful protections and explain your reasoning clearly.

• A record of taking ownership and working closely with engineers from investigation through remediation.

Experience with distributed systems, multi-tenant infrastructure or AI inference platforms is useful.
