Job summary

Amazon GuardDuty is a threat detection service that monitors for malicious behavior to protect AWS accounts and workloads. The Security Engineer role focuses on researching attack patterns, building simulations, and mentoring teams in large-scale cloud security.

The successful candidate will work with cross-functional teams to stay ahead of evolving attack techniques and to strengthen detection mechanisms at scale on AWS.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered software.
• 1+ years of OO design experience.
• Experience with at least one programming language (C#, C++, Java or Perl).
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in CS/Engineering/Math or related field.

Responsibilities

• Recognize and safely utilize attacker tools, tactics and procedures.
• Develop scripts, tools or methodologies to enhance red team capabilities.
• Collaborate with data scientists to test detections for complex exploitation patterns.
• Build simulations to validate tools and techniques.
• Advise broader team on current threat landscape, tools & techniques.
• Detonate and analyze behavioral patterns of Malware.
• Create intellectual property and influence others with creativity.
