Job summary

Amazon Security is seeking a Security Engineer to build and operate services that detect and automate mitigation of cybersecurity threats across AWS infrastructure. You’ll collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and security engineers to develop security solutions at massive scale, protecting AWS customers and internal systems.

You’ll work on detection prototypes, threat modeling, secure coding practices, and leverage AWS services to reduce risk across the system.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of scripting, programming and security code review (non-internship)
• 2+ years troubleshooting systems issues, analyzing logs, or automating basic tasks
• Bachelor's degree in STEM or IT Security
• Knowledge of HTTP, DNS, TCP/IP
• Knowledge of security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques

Responsibilities

• Research, identify and prioritize security problems that can be detected with automation.
• Develop detection prototypes to enhance detection capabilities.
• Identify opportunities to prevent security issues at scale.
• Mentor and develop teammates technically and professionally.
• Advocate for new technologies to identify and mitigate complex risks
