Job summary

Fireworks AI is seeking a Security Engineer to design, implement, and operate security controls across AI infrastructure and internal systems. You will work with multiple teams to strengthen security posture and enable rapid growth in a multi-cloud environment.

The role emphasizes building security into CI/CD, protecting data and models, and implementing vulnerability management and incident response programs. Experience with Kubernetes, cloud platforms, and secure software design is essential.

Qualifications

• 3 to 7 years of experience in software engineering or security engineering.
• Proficient in Python and/or Go with experience in designing production-grade systems.
• Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures using GCP, incl. network segregation, authentication, authorization, encryption, data protection, intrusion detection, and cloud-specific security benchmarks.

Responsibilities

• Design and build security-focused software and platform capabilities to protect data, models, and services across multi-cloud infrastructure.
• Perform security reviews of cloud-native architectures including Kubernetes clusters and multi-cloud workloads.
• Embed security into CI/CD pipelines using a DevSecOps approach with automated scanning and policy enforcement.
• Develop in-house security tooling and automation where beneficial for control and scalability.
• Build and operate a vulnerability management program with remediation across apps, containers, and cloud infra.
• Operate security operations including detection engineering, incident response and post-incident reviews.
• Participate in red/blue team exercises and post-incident root cause analysis.
• Embed compliance controls into infrastructure and product layers (SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, PCI-DSS).
