Job summary

Relay is hiring a full-stack engineer focused on security to partner with the Head of Security. You will own production security systems end to end, including wallet screening, sandwich-attack tracking, and Vigil auditing tooling.

You will ship security features that product teams can trust, with on-call responsibilities and AI-assisted tooling to aid reviews and enforcement. You will work in an on-call capacity, deploy services in production, and collaborate across Security, Infrastructure, and

Qualifications

• Hands-on software engineer with production experience across the stack.
• Security-focused mindset with ability to ship secure features.
• Experience building or operating deterrence and screening systems.
• Comfort working with security engineers and product teams.

Responsibilities

• Own wallet screening microservice end-to-end, including verdict quality and latency.
• Integrate risk vendors and define stages for application of screening rules.
• Make blocking decisions explainable with auditable reports.
• Build override and watchlist tooling with authorization and audit trails.
• Handle compliance requests and maintain fail-closed guarantees across flows.
• Develop sandwich-attack tracker into a production system and measure effectiveness.
• Maintain Vigil auditing tool, keep checks current, and drive next audits.
• Collaborate with engineers to threat-model new features and apply secure-by-default patterns.
• Operate the detection and response loop with automated loss reviews and monitoring.
