Job summary

Relay is hiring a full-stack security engineer focused on building secure, production-grade systems. You’ll own critical security services, including wallet screening, an MEV tracker, and Vigil auditing tooling, while collaborating with product and infrastructure teams to ship secure features.

You will write code daily, deploy to production, and respond to incidents 24/7, using AI-assisted tooling and state-of-the-art threat modeling to reduce risk across chains.

Qualifications

• Must-have: hands-on full-stack engineering with production systems, instrumentation, logging, monitoring, and alerts.
• Must-have: 4+ years in software engineering with security interest.
• Must-have: strong TypeScript across stack and security flaw review.
• Must-have: on-chain analysis expertise on EVM chains.
• Must-have: experience operating LLM-based automation in production.
• Must-have: containers and Kubernetes deployment.
• Must-have: reading Solidity to assess automation findings.

Responsibilities

• Own wallet screening microservice: verdict quality, caching, latency, uptime.
• Integrate risk vendors and define stage of transaction scope per chain and address role.
• Make blocking decisions explainable with auditable reports.
• Build override, watchlist tooling with authorization and audit trails.
• Handle partner/compliance requests about screening coverage.
• Maintain fail-closed guarantees across flows with tests.
• Turn sandwich-tracker into production system for real-time detection.
• Measure precision/recall with per-chain back-test suite.
• Collaborate with engineers to design mitigations and monitor impact.
• Investigate incidents with Head of Security and write postmortems.
• Own Vigil auditing tool: reliability, checks, next audits.
