Job summary

United States Bullet Proofing, Inc. (USBP) seeks a Design Engineer to drive the development and refinement of aluminum door and window systems from concept to production release, with emphasis on ballistic resistance, forced-entry resistance, and blast mitigation.

You will design assemblies in 3D CAD, specify hardware and laminated glass layups, and coordinate with test labs and partner firms to plan, execute, and interpret product testing while maintaining design standards and documentation

Qualifications

• Experience designing or engineering products for manufacturing with aluminum door and window systems.
• Proficient with AutoCAD Inventor or SolidWorks (or comparable 3D CAD).
• Excellent written and verbal communication with internal stakeholders, test labs, and external firms.
• Strong documentation and revision control discipline.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Minimum 5+ years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, detail, and document aluminum door/window assemblies using 3D CAD to manufacturing-ready drawings.
• Develop products for physical security applications, including ballistic- and blast-mitigating configurations.
• Select door hardware and laminated glass layups to meet performance and code requirements.
• Coordinate with internal and external partners to plan and interpret product testing.
• Continuously evaluate existing products for improvements and next-generation redesigns.
• Maintain internal design standards and ensure team adherence to them.
• Own document and revision control for drawings, specs, and test records.
• Maintain organized records of development and testing documentation.
• Support root-cause analysis for design- or manufacturing-related issues.
• Communicate status and technical findings clearly to leadership.
