Job summary

Vail Resorts in Breckenridge, CO is hiring for winter seasonal roles including Security Host. You will help ensure safety, check IDs, manage venue access, and deliver guest service at mountain venues.

Starting wage is $20.00–$23.00/hour with full-time and part-time options. Housing is available. Must be 21+, fluent in English; CPR/First Aid preferred. Vail Resorts is an equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Verify guest identification and monitor age-restricted service compliance.
• Prevent outside alcohol and prohibited items from entering venue.
• Monitor guest behavior and ensure compliance with venue rules and safety standards.
• Regulate occupancy levels and assist with venue capacity management.
• Maintain orderly guest entry and exit points and assist with crowd management.
• Coordinate with venue leadership, security, ski patrol, and emergency services when needed.
• Complete incident reports and document policy violations.

As a Security Host, you will play a critical role in creating a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable environment for guests and employees. This position serves as the first point of contact at venue entrances and is responsible for monitoring guest compliance with resort and venue policies, checking identification, regulating venue capacity, and helping ensure the safety of all guests.

Job Specifications:

• Starting Wage: $20.00/hr - $23.00/hr

Job Responsibilities:

• Verify guest identification and monitor compliance with age-restricted alcohol service requirements
• Prevent outside alcohol, prohibited items, or unsafe materials from entering the venue
• Monitor guest behavior and ensure compliance with venue rules, resort policies, and safety standards
• Regulate occupancy levels and assist with venue capacity management during peak business periods
• Maintain orderly and efficient guest entry and exit points
• Assist with crowd management during special events, live entertainment, and high-volume operations
• Identify and proactively address potential safety concerns before they escalated
• Communicate professionally with guests while enforcing policies in a respectful and consistent manner
• Coordinate with venue leadership, security personnel, ski patrol, and local emergency services when necessary
• Complete incident reports and document policy violations as required
• Provide exceptional guest service while maintaining a safe environment
• Full time position will include warehouse duties and stocking
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience in security, hospitality, guest service, event operations, or law enforcement preferred
• Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills
• Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
• Must be able to communicate fluently in English
• Ability to make sound decisions and exercise good judgment
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time in indoor and outdoor environments
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• CPR, First Aid, or security-related certifications preferred
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Valid TIPS certification - company will provide training if needed

Physical Demands:

• Standing and walking for prolonged periods
• Frequent interaction with large crowds in a fast-paced environment
• Working outdoors in varying mountain weather conditions
• Occasional bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling

The expected pay range is$20.00/hr - $23.00/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
