Job summary

GHD in Baltimore, MD seeks a Security Design Consultant to design cutting-edge Electronic Security Systems including ACS, CCTV, IDS, vehicle barriers, and intercoms. You will develop drawings, specifications, and cost estimates from concept through construction documents and project closeout.

You will collaborate with architectural and engineering teams to deliver high-quality security solutions, manage multi-disciplinary projects, and engage stakeholders locally and globally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; proven equivalent combination of education, skills, knowledge, abilities, and experience accepted.
• Ability to work independently in Autodesk Revit required; 5+ years experience a plus.
• ASIS PSP Required (or ability to obtain it within 6 months); ASIS CPP a plus.
• Completed the Software House C-Cure 9000 Applications Engineer/Consultant training.
• 5-10 years of relevant security consulting experience.
• Experience with ATFP and CPTED.
• Expert knowledge of access control, camera, NVR, video analytics, network, PLC, and intercom systems.
• Strong project management skills, multi-disciplinary project delivery on time and within budget.
• Knowledge of state and national building and energy codes a plus.
• Excellent written and oral communication; client-facing engagement.
• Federal DoD and civilian agencies project experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Client & Customer Management (External): Help senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships using relevant systems.
• Community of Practice Management: Participate in a defined area of expertise to build own knowledge.
• Data Collection and Analysis: Conduct research using primary data sources for theme and trend analysis.
• Engineering Inspections: Carry out inspections to evaluate quality and recommend remedial actions.
• Engineering Solutions Design: Develop and test feasibility of engineering solutions for design validation.
• Health, Safety, and Environment: Follow HSE policies and train team in safe working methods.
• Knowledge Management System: Help others get the most out of knowledge management systems.
• Project Management: Work within an established project plan to achieve goals.
• Request for Bid Solicitation/Proposal/Tender Response: Draft and fulfill standardized proposals for bid opportunities.
• Testing: Design test procedures based on product specifications.
