Job summary

SAIC seeks a Communications Systems Engineer to serve as a Security Control Assessor for a SAIC Prime Program at the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) in Hawthorne, CA. The role supports on-site SETA services for multiple satellite programs and involves space communication, network, and crypto system expertise.

The candidate will review security controls, RMF processes, and contract documentation while coordinating with COTRs and program stakeholders. Domestic travel up to 25% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 9+ years of experience, or Master's with 7+ years, or PhD/JD with 4+ years.
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with Poly.
• Experience with space communication, network, and crypto systems.
• Experience with RMF and information security policies and standards.
• Experience with NRO satellite systems.
• Willingness to travel domestically up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Support the System Program Office (SPO) in an acquisition capacity for planning, execution, monitoring, and oversight of communication, network, and crypto acquisitions.
• Conduct independent assessments of management, operational, and technical security controls. Support faster RMF processing and security assessment reporting.
• Develop documents and briefings to communicate work or study status, briefs Government and industry as required
• Support Contract Officer Technical Representatives (COTRs) and Developers by coordinating with other acquisition domain SMEs and program stakeholders to develop, modify, and maintain contract documentation
• Review Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) deliverables to ensure content, accuracy, and sufficiency to meet program requirements and objectives
• Participate in program reviews and technical interchange meetings between developers and COTR
• Travel is required and may occur once a month.
