Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Communications Systems Engineer to act as a Security Control Assessor (SETA) for a National Reconnaissance Office program in Hawthorne, CA. The role requires on-site support and close collaboration with SPO, COTRs, and developers to ensure secure, compliant system acquisitions.

Candidates must hold an active Top Secret/SCI clearance with Poly and have experience in space communication, network, and crypto systems, as well as RMF and security policy knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Support SPO in planning, execution, monitoring, and oversight of comms, network, and crypto acquisitions.
• Conduct independent assessments of security controls and RMF processing.
• Develop documents and briefings for status updates to Government and industry.
• Coordinate with COTRs and program stakeholders to maintain contract docs.
• Review CDLR deliverables for content, accuracy, and sufficiency.
• Participate in program reviews and tech interchange meetings.
• Travel domestically up to 25% as required.

Job description

SAIC is seeking a Communications Systems Engineer to act as a Security Control Assessor to provide onsite systems engineering and technical advisory (SETA) services in support of a SAIC Prime Program at the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) in Hawthorne, CA.

Job Responsibilities to include:

• Support the System Program Office (SPO) in an acquisition capacity for planning, execution, monitoring, and oversight of communication, network, and crypto acquisitions.
• Conduct independent assessments of management, operational, and technical security controls. Support faster RMF processing and security assessment reporting.
• Develop documents and briefings to communicate work or study status, briefs Government and industry as required
• Support Contract Officer Technical Representatives (COTRs) and Developers by coordinating with other acquisition domain SMEs and program stakeholders to develop, modify, and maintain contract documentation
• Review Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) deliverables to ensure content, accuracy, and sufficiency to meet program requirements and objectives
• Participate in program reviews and technical interchange meetings between developers and COTR
• Travel is required and may occur once a month.

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with Poly
• Understanding and experience with how space communication, network, and crypto systems are designed, specified, developed, manufactured, and tested
• Experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and information security policies and standards
• Experience with NRO satellite systems
• Available to travel domestically up to 25%
