SAIC is seeking a Communications Systems Engineer to act as Offensive Security Engineer for a National Reconnaissance Office program in Chantilly, VA. The role focuses on on-site systems engineering and SETA support, encompassing satellite communication, network, and crypto acquisitions.

The candidate will collaborate with government and industry, develop and execute testing frameworks, and prepare briefs and documentation for program milestones.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years of experience; Master’s with 7+ years; PhD or JD with 4+ years.
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with Poly.
• Experience with RMF and information security policies and standards.
• Understanding of space communication, network, and crypto systems design, development and testing.
• Familiarity with NRO organization, processes, and satellite systems.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% domestically.

Responsibilities

• Support the SPO in acquisition planning, execution, monitoring, and oversight of comms, network, and crypto acquisitions.
• Build, automate, and execute testing frameworks and security assessments; address red/blue team findings.
• Develop documents and briefings for status updates to Government and industry as required.
• Coordinate with COTRs and Developers to maintain contract documentation.
• Review CDRL deliverables for content, accuracy, and sufficiency to meet program requirements.
• Participate in program reviews and technical interchange meetings between developers and COTRs.
• Travel may be required up to 25% domestically.

Job description

SAIC is seeking a Communications Systems Engineer to act as Offensive Security Engineer to provide onsite systems engineering and technical advisory (SETA) services in support of an SAIC Prime Program at the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) in Chantilly, VA.

The Offensive Security Engineer will support a Government customer with multiple satellite systems, both on-orbit and in development. They will also support communication systems, network, and crypto acquisition activities for multiple major satellite programs.

Note: An active Top Secret/SCI clearance with Poly is required to be considered for this role

Job Responsibilities to include:

• Support the System Program Office (SPO) in an acquisition capacity for planning, execution, monitoring, and oversight of communication, network, and crypto acquisitions.
• Build, automate, and execute testing frameworks and security assessments. Help resolve red/blue team findings. Improve cybersecurity posture against evolving threats.
• Develop documents and briefings to communicate work or study status, briefs Government and industry as required
• Support Contract Officer Technical Representatives (COTRs) and Developers by coordinating with other acquisition domain SMEs and program stakeholders to develop, modify, and maintain contract documentation
• Review Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) deliverables to ensure content, accuracy, and sufficiency to meet program requirements and objectives
• Participate in program reviews and technical interchange meetings between developers and COTR
• Travel is required and may occur once a month.

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with Poly
• Experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and information security policies and standards
• Understanding and experience within how space communication, network, and crypto systems are designed, specified, developed, manufactured, and tested
• Familiarity with NRO organization, processes, and satellite systems.
• Available to travel up to 25% domestically
