Koniag Energy & Water seeks a Security & Communications Project Manager to lead field projects across Alaska, coordinating video surveillance, networking, towers, and low‑voltage systems. You will own execution from turnover through testing, acceptance, and closeout, managing clients, technicians, electricians, vendors, and leadership.

The role requires strong knowledge of low‑voltage field construction, IP security, and safe, on‑time delivery under remote conditions.

Qualifications

• Five+ years in project management/construction in electronic security or related field.
• Experience managing field crews, subcontractors, procurement, budgets, schedules, changes, testing, client communication, and project closeout.
• Working knowledge of IP video surveillance, networking, structured cabling, fiber or wireless communications, power and grounding.
• Ability to interpret project financial information and forecast costs-to-complete and completion.
• Strong written, verbal, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project scheduling, cost‑control, and document‑management tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple security, surveillance, communications, networking, tower, and related low-voltage projects from planning through customer acceptance and closeout.
• Develop and maintain execution plans, budgets, schedules, labor forecasts, procurement plans, site logistics, submittal logs, testing plans, risk registers, and closeout plans.
• Review contracts, drawings, specifications, estimates, proposals, and customer requests; identify scope gaps, system-interface issues, and commercial risk.
• Coordinate technicians, tower crews, electricians, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors; ensure prerequisites, access, equipment, materials, tools, and information are available.
• Track committed cost, labor productivity, percent complete, cost to complete, forecast at completion, billing status, change exposure, and gross-margin risk; elevate variances early.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, equipment approvals, procurement, long-lead items, change orders, field records, customer decisions, and turnover documentation.
• Support planning and issue resolution for IP cameras, video management systems, network switches, copper and fiber cabling, wireless links, power and grounding, equipment enclosures, access control, intrusion detection, intercom or communications systems, and system integration.
• Coordinate tower and elevated work, including qualified resources, rescue and safety planning, access, lifting or rigging, weather constraints, inspections, and site-specific requirements.
• Lead project and customer meetings; document decisions, action owners, due dates, testing requirements, outages, cutovers, and acceptance criteria.
• Plan Alaska and remote-site mobilization, lodging, freight, badging, escorts, operational constraints, and coordination with owners and other contractors.
• Verify systems are installed, labeled, configured, tested, documented, and turned over in accordance with approved design and customer requirements.
• Promote compliance with safety, cybersecurity, quality, licensing, customer, and regulatory requirements applicable to each project.
• Maintain productive client relationships and support estimates, proposals, site walks, lessons learned, and follow‑on opportunities when requested.

• Working knowledge of IP video surveillance and networking fundamentals, structured cabling, fiber or wireless communications, power and grounding, and construction drawings and specifications.
• Ability to interpret project financial information and produce reliable cost‑to‑complete and completionforecasts.
• Strong written, verbal, organizational, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities independently.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project scheduling, cost‑control, and document‑management tools.
• Valid driver license and ability to satisfy customer‑site access, background‑check, and drug‑testing requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, information technology, business, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Experience with enterprise video management systems, access‑control or intrusion platforms, network design, fiber systems, wireless backhaul, or integrated physical‑security systems.
• Experience managing enterprise physical security systems utilizing platforms such as Genetec, Milestone, Avigilon, LenelS2, or similar technologies.
• Experience with Cisco, Aruba, Juniper, Fortinet, Moxa, Hirschmann, or other enterprise and industrial networking platforms.
• Experience with virtualization, Windows Server, SQL databases, storage infrastructure, cloud‑managed security systems, and hybrid architectures.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST, ISA/IEC 62443, Zero‑Trust concepts, CJIS, or other government security requirements.
• Experience managing tower construction, antenna or radio installations, elevated work, and remote communications sites.
• Alaska remote‑site, oil and gas, utility, transportation, government, or critical‑infrastructure project experience.
• PMP, NICET, manufacturer certification, BICSI, networking, tower‑safety, or other relevant credential.

Work Environment And Physical Requirements

This role works in both office and active field environments. Regular travel to Alaska project sites is expected and may include remote locations, rooftops or tower sites, operating facilities, outdoor work, uneven terrain, stairs and ladders, and exposure to weather and noise. The employee must be able to use standard office equipment, wear required personal protective equipment, and occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. The Project Manager coordinates elevated work but is not expected to climb unless separately qualified, medically cleared, trained, and assigned. Extended hours may be required during mobilization, outages, cutovers, testing, or critical project activities.
