Columbia Technology Partners in Annapolis, MD seeks a Technical Writer Level 2 to support development, maintenance, and delivery of technical documentation for software and systems engineering programs.

The role requires translating complex concepts into clear, user-friendly docs for technical and non-technical audiences, collaborating with engineers and SMEs, and contributing to training materials and knowledge management.

Qualifications

• Six (6) years of experience as a Technical Writer supporting programs or contracts of similar scope, complexity, and mission.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university; four (4) additional years may substitute for the degree.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, revise, and maintain technical documentation supporting software engineering, systems operations, testing, and end-user activities.
• Develop installation guides, configuration procedures, implementation guides, user manuals, and how-to documentation for hardware and software systems.
• Create and maintain software code documentation, technical publications, data flow diagrams, field definitions, and system process documentation.
• Collaborate with engineers, developers, system administrators, and subject matter experts to gather technical information and translate it into clear, organized documentation.
• Support configuration management activities, process improvement initiatives, system documentation efforts, and knowledge management programs.
• Develop training materials, business process documentation, and technical training content to support operational and user communities.
