Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Systems Administrator / Help Desk Support Specialist to deliver hands-on technical support, system administration, and troubleshooting for mission-critical infrastructure. You will handle Tier 1/2 tickets, configure workstations and servers, and ensure RMF/NIST 800-53 compliance.

You should have 5 years with a BS/BA (3 years with an MS/MA), an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph, and a DoD 8570/8140 certification or the ability to obtain it within a stated timeframe.

Qualifications

• BS/BA required with 5 years of experience; MS/MA with 3 years may substitute.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with ability to obtain a polygraph.
• DoD 8570/8140-compliant certification (e.g., Security+) or ability to obtain within [X] days of hire.
• Experience with Windows/Linux, Active Directory, and IT service management processes.
• Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 1/2 help desk support and resolve user tickets promptly.
• Install, configure, and maintain workstations, servers, and peripherals.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues for end users.
• Perform routine system administration tasks including account provisioning and patching.
• Support RMF/NIST 800-53 compliance and incident documentation in ticketing system.
• Escalate complex issues to senior admins or engineering teams.
• Assist with monitoring, backups, and onboarding/offboarding activities.
