Job summary

ASD in Chandler, AZ is seeking a Structural Engineer 3 to support its Mechanical and Energetics department. You will perform structural analysis on launch vehicles and missiles, collaborating with a dynamic team on-site.

Responsibilities include damage tolerance, durability, design allowables and modeling using NX NASTRAN, FEMAP, ANSYS, ABAQUS. A strong background in reading drawings and with security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM with 5 years of related engineering experience; OR Master's with 3 years; or PhD with 1 year.
• Ability to obtain a US Government Secret security clearance or higher.
• Strong structural analysis background with relevant experience.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Performs structural analysis on launch vehicle and ground support components.
• Analyzes damage tolerance, durability, design allowables and structural modeling.
• Specialties may include dynamics and loads, stability and stress fatigue and thermal analysis.
• Tools will include NX CAD software and FEA.
