Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space in Sunnyvale seeks a Senior Mechanical/Structural Engineer to drive structural dynamics analyses for missile and spacecraft hardware from concept to flight.

You will develop high-fidelity dynamic models, analyze components, and guide architecture decisions while ensuring tests align with design intent. A Bachelor's in engineering with 5+ years of experience and MATLAB/Python proficiency are required, with eligibility for a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering or similar field with 5+ years of experience.
• Experience leading dynamics analyses (quasi-statics, shock, random vibration, sine vibration, vibro-acoustic, multi-body dynamics).
• Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural dynamics analyses from concept through flight.
• Develop and own high-fidelity dynamic models to simulate loads, environments, and functionality.
• Analyze components and systems to generate design criteria and solutions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to inform architecture decisions and lifecycle requirements.
• Define static and dynamic test requirements, oversee tests, and lead data reduction and correlation.
