Job summary

EPS Corporation is seeking a safety-conscious Rigger to oversee preparation, balancing, and movement of heavy loads on site. You will select rigging hardware, attach loads to lifting machinery, inspect gear for safety, and guide operators through complex maneuvers.

The ideal candidate has strong spatial awareness, solid math skills for load distribution, and a commitment to safety regulations. 2–3 years of field experience preferred with OSHA compliance emphasized.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training preferred.
  • NCCO Level 1 Crane Rigger Certification required.
  • 2–3 years of field experience with heavy rigging equipment in construction-related industries.
  • Solid understanding of OSHA safety standards and high-risk work compliance.
  • VEVRAA Federal Contractor, EOE status noted in description.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate weight, size, shape and center of gravity to plan safe lifting procedures.
  • Select and prepare rigging gear: wire rope, chains, slings, shackles, hoists, pulleys, spreader bars.
  • Secure loads to cranes, winches, or derricks with padding for edge protection.
  • Inspect lifting tools and gear before/after use for wear or defects.
  • Direct crane operators and drivers using precise hand signals or radio communication.
  • Assist in erecting, leveling, anchoring, and dismantling mobile cranes and platforms.
  • Adhere to company policies and OSHA regulations to eliminate hazards.
