Job summary

TechWise is seeking a Network Operations Specialist II to join our Fort Drum, NY team. The role focuses on managing and maintaining complex network systems, including routers, switches, lines, modems, and servers, to ensure reliable transmission services.

The successful candidate will work independently under supervision, plan and install network systems, monitor performance, and resolve issues with some authority to deviate from standard procedures.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in IT or related field is required.
• 3+ years as Network Administrator; 5+ years substitutable for degree.
• Must possess SECRET clearance.
• Knowledge of network troubleshooting, operating systems, applications, and network management; familiarity with current technologies for security.

Responsibilities

• Works independently under general supervision to provide technical solutions for network systems, including control software, routers, switches, lines, modems, adapters and servers.
• Plans, installs and maintains network systems for multiple classifications.
• Monitors network performance and troubleshoots complex problems to ensure quality transmission service on the network.
• Uses subject matter expertise to diagnose and solve issues with some authority to deviate from standard procedures.
