Job summary

TechWise is seeking a Network Operations Specialist II to join our Fort Drum, NY team. The role focuses on managing and maintaining complex network systems, including routers, switches, lines, modems, and servers, to ensure reliable transmission services.

The successful candidate will work independently under supervision, plan and install network systems, monitor performance, and resolve issues with some authority to deviate from standard procedures.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in IT or related field is required.
• 3+ years as Network Administrator; 5+ years substitutable for degree.
• Must possess SECRET clearance.
• Knowledge of network troubleshooting, operating systems, applications, and network management; familiarity with current technologies for security.

• Plans, installs and maintains network systems for multiple classifications.

Job Summary

• Works independently under general supervision to provide technical solutions in the management of software, hardware, configurations, and architectures, including network control software, routers, switches, lines, modems, adapters and servers
• Plans, installs and maintains network systems for multiple classifications
• Monitors network performance and troubleshoots and resolves complex problems to maintain operating efficiency and ensure quality transmission service on the network.
• Uses subject matter expertise to diagnose and solve issues and has some authority to deviate from standard operating procedures

Required Qualifications

• Minimum BA or BS degree in Information Technology or related field.
• Requires three or more years' experience as a Network Administrator
• An additional five years of experience as a Network Administrator can be substituted for the lack of a degree
• Requires knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network troubleshooting and support, operating systems and applications and network management.
• Must have working knowledge of current technologies and products for MTC services and security
• Must possess a SECRET clearance
