Job summary

CompTech Computer Technologies is seeking a Network Administrator II to support deployment, administration, maintenance, and security of enterprise networks including LAN, WLAN, and WAN. The role requires active DoD Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship, with on-site work at Langley AFB, Hampton, VA.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on network experience, strong troubleshooting, and the ability to document procedures and maintain security controls within an enterprise environment.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years of progressive experience in network administration or related discipline.
• Hands-on experience deploying, administering, maintaining, and troubleshooting LAN, WLAN, and WAN environments.
• Experience configuring and maintaining network hardware, software, and infrastructure.
• Experience with network performance monitoring and capacity analysis.
• Experience maintaining network security and implementing security controls.
• Experience developing or maintaining technical docs, SOPs, or knowledge bases.

Overview

CompTech Computer Technologies is seeking an experienced Network Administrator - Level II to support the deployment, administration, maintenance, and security of enterprise network environments. This position is responsible for the day-to-day sustainment, integrity, security, performance, and availability of network infrastructure, including LAN, WLAN, and WAN environments. The successful candidate will possess hands-on network administration experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to maintain secure and reliable network operations within an enterprise environment.

Work Scope

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, administer, and sustain new and existing information networks, including LAN, WLAN, and WAN environments.
• Perform day-to-day network administration to maintain network availability, integrity, performance, and security.
• Install, configure, maintain, and update network hardware, software, and associated components.
• Monitor network performance and availability and identify and resolve connectivity, configuration, and performance issues.
• Perform daily network performance monitoring and capacity analysis.
• Maintain the network security posture and implement required security controls.
• Perform network infrastructure maintenance and upgrades to ensure appropriate operational and security posture.
• Support the configuration and administration of network devices and associated technologies.
• Manage applicable user accounts, permissions, and network access.
• Support backup and recovery activities for network systems and configurations.
• Troubleshoot network hardware, software, connectivity, and performance issues.
• Identify network vulnerabilities, operational risks, and areas requiring remediation or improvement.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), maintenance guides, technical documentation, and knowledge base articles supporting network operations.
• Coordinate with technical teams and other stakeholders to resolve network-related issues and maintain reliable network services.
• Follow established cybersecurity, configuration management, and operational procedures.
• Perform other network administration and operational support activities as required.

Experience, Education, and Certification Requirements

Experience

• Four (4) years of progressive experience demonstrating intermediate proficiency in network administration or a related discipline.
• Hands-on experience deploying, administering, maintaining, and troubleshooting LAN, WLAN, and WAN environments.
• Experience configuring and maintaining network hardware, software, and associated infrastructure.
• Experience with network performance monitoring and capacity analysis.
• Experience maintaining network security and implementing applicable security controls.
• Experience performing network infrastructure maintenance, upgrades, and configuration changes.
• Experience troubleshooting network connectivity, configuration, availability, and performance issues.
• Experience developing or maintaining technical documentation, SOPs, maintenance guides, and/or knowledge base articles.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

Education

Bachelor's degree and/or applicable equivalency of four (4) years of additional relevant experience in lieu of a degree.

Certification Requirements

• CompTIA Security+
• CompTIA CySA+
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
• Additional certifications related to networking, cybersecurity, or enterprise infrastructure technologies are a plus.
