Job summary

Scale AI is seeking a Software Engineer for Frontier AI Infrastructure to own the model inference layer and help scale the company’s cloud-native AI platform. You will debug tools, manage networking, latency, and pricing/usage metrics while collaborating with cloud vendors and customers to meet contract requirements.

You will design secure backend services, re-architect stacks for compliant environments, contribute to roadmaps, and engage with Product to build tests that prevent issues upstream.

Qualifications

• Must have at least an active secret clearance with the ability to upgrade to TS/SCI with CI Poly.
• Experience designing secure backend systems for cloud-native AI infrastructure.
• Familiarity with Federal Compliance frameworks and security requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure scalable backend systems for Public Sector customers.
• Own services or systems and define their long-term health goals.
• Re-architect the stack to run in compliant or restrictive environments.
• Collaborate with Product to build integration tests and prevent upstream issues.
• Engage with customers and stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions.
• Contribute to the platform roadmap and product strategy for Scale AI's Public Sector business.
