Job summary

FGS, LLC is seeking a Technical Writer to develop, edit, and maintain security requirements guides and related documentation for the Office of Naval Intelligence in Suitland, Maryland. The role supports cloud, cybersecurity, data, network, and systems engineering activities with Government stakeholders.

The ideal candidate has strong writing and editing skills, document-management experience, and the ability to convert complex requirements into clear narrative in a classified environment.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Active TS/SCI clearance at hire.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Experience developing and editing technical documentation for IT, engineering or security programs.
• Ability to produce clear, well-organized documentation from complex material.
• Strong writing, editing, formatting, and information-organization skills.
• Ability to interview experts, reconcile input, and validate content.
• Ability to interpret diagrams, flows, and security documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop, edit, and maintain security requirements guides and related documents.
• Interview cybersecurity, cloud, network, and engineering personnel to gather content.
• Translate complex controls into clear language for technical and executive audiences.
• Create outlines, content plans, schedules, and delivery packages.
• Standardize structure, terminology, and style across deliverables.
• Edit for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with government requirements.
• Create diagrams, tables, and supporting content.
• Manage reviews, adjudication, and version control.
• Maintain document configuration-management and release procedures.
• Coordinate with leads and government reviewers to meet milestones.
• Prepare documentation for security assessments and authorization activities.
