Job summary

Knight Watch, Inc. in Kalamazoo, MI is seeking an Experienced Service Technician to keep access control, video surveillance, fire alarm, and low‑voltage systems operating safely and reliably.

You will troubleshoot in the field, read blueprints, perform customer-facing service calls, document work, and grow your technical knowledge through training and certifications.

A company vehicle is provided; travel to customer sites is common in this role.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience servicing access control, video surveillance, fire alarm, and other low‑voltage systems.
• Experience performing customer‑facing service calls and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read blueprints, electrical drawings, device layouts, and service documentation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, mobile service tools, and ticketing systems to document work.
• NICET certification and/or fire alarm experience, or a plan to continue credentials.
• Ability to lift equipment and work safely in varied site conditions.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, service, and support access control, video surveillance, fire alarm, and other systems to ensure safety and reliability.
• Diagnose system issues in the field, identify root causes, and apply effective solutions.
• Perform customer-facing service calls with professionalism and clear communication.
• Read blueprints and system documentation to complete service work accurately.
• Document service activity, materials, labor, and ticket updates in a timely manner.
• Grow technical knowledge through training and certifications to benefit customers.
• Communicate professionally with customers and internal teams to ensure a smooth service experience.
