Job summary

Convergint is seeking a full-time Security Technician to install, program, startup, certify, and train customers on fire, security, and building automation projects of varying complexity. You will interface with customers, support technical issues, and help mentor junior staff.

The role emphasizes safety, quality, and on-time delivery across projects. Candidates should have 5–7 years’ experience in electronics or building automation and a college degree or equivalent training.

Qualifications

• Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure.
• Strong technical skills related to building automation, fire alarm, and electronic security systems; adapt procedures to complex requirements.
• Advanced reading of blueprints and schematics; able to interpret wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Installs, programs, tests, repairs, and services security, fire, and building automation systems.
• Reads blueprints and diagrams to determine installation requirements and perform repairs.
• Mentors less experienced staff and coordinates with project managers on site.
