Job summary

Convergint is seeking a Security Technician to install, program, start-up, certify and train customers on security, fire alarm, life safety, and building automation systems. You will read blueprints, troubleshoot, and support multiple projects with varying timelines and budgets.

You will collaborate with engineers and project managers, mentor junior staff, and travel locally to job sites. A valid driver's license and 3–5 years' field experience are required; a strong customer focus is essential.

Qualifications

• High School/GED or equivalent experience required.
• 3–5 years relevant field service experience preferred.
• Certifications in Security/Access control systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Installs, programs, tests, repairs and services security, fire alarm and life-safety systems.
• Reads blueprints and wiring diagrams to determine installation procedures.
• Collaborates with project managers and engineering to resolve issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Mentors less experienced staff and provides technical support on projects.
• Travels locally to job sites; potential minimal overnight travel.
