Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and implementing management plans for safe and appropriate Glade and Park use.
- Provide daily support to Glade staff managing Glade use; address and resolve space-use conflicts.
- Respond to emergency situations as they occur at the Glade and in the Park.
- Cultivate and maintain positive and cooperative relationships with the public and the adjacent community.
- Communicate with ease and diplomacy across all staff levels and with Glade and Park visitors.
- Specialize in all matters, policies, and procedures of Glade and Forest Park rules and regulations; educate Glade and Park visitors about proper use of landscapes and features.
- Track and compile Glade security statistics.
- Address ongoing activities related to visitors who are unhoused and reports to other agencies and organizations.
- Review the facility rental, programming and events schedules and plan for any associated security and safety needs.
- Conduct regular visits to rented event areas and otherwise patrol the Glade site.
- Provide a security presence at Glade and other Park events, facilities, and programs as assigned.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the Glade’s and Forest Park’s history and landmarks and share information with Park visitors, contractors, and vendors.
- Conduct check-ins at Glade facilities, public programs and private events.
- Attend Glade and broader Forest Park Forever meetings and external agency meetings as necessary.
- Participate in community relations outreach.
- Complete incident reports on all issues and concerns related to Glade activity and Park activity as assigned.
- Although not part of day-to-day tasks, the Security Ambassador may be called upon to perform other operations tasks as needed and/or required by the Glade or Forest Park Forever.

Requirements
Qualifications
- Highschool diploma or GED.
- 1-3 years of experience working with the public, Park Operations, or a field related to community relations.
- Education and/or experience equivalent to the bullet immediately above. However, all candidates must have demonstrated the ability to work well and collaborate with others.
- Excellent organizational, planning, time management, and communication skills.
License(s): Valid Drivers’ License that must be maintained for the duration of employment.
Physical Work Requirements / Work Conditions
- Ability to provide both oral and written communication that is easily understood and direct in its content.
- Ability to engage in critical thinking skills that allow for prioritizing issues, coordinating multiple projects, and solving problems.
- Knowledge of computer equipment and Microsoft Office applications; proficiency in Word and Outlook
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
- Ability to make critical decisions and manage emergency situations.
- Ability to withstand working outside in, at times, extreme temperatures.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and to perform physical labor.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
