Job summary

Forest Park Forever seeks a Security Ambassador to help ensure the Glade and Forest Park remain safe, welcoming, and well‑patrolled. You will assist in implementing safety plans, support staff, and respond to emergencies while coordinating with visitors, contractors, and community partners.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and 1–3 years in public-facing work or park operations, plus a valid driver's license. Flexibility for nights and weekends is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1-3 years of experience in public facing roles or park operations.
• Ability to collaborate with others and work well in a team.
• Excellent organizational, planning, time management, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing management plans for safe and appropriate Glade and Park use.
• Provide daily support to Glade staff managing Glade use; address and resolve space-use conflicts.
• Respond to emergency situations as they occur at the Glade and in the Park.
• Cultivate and maintain positive and cooperative relationships with the public and the adjacent community.
• Communicate with ease and diplomacy across all staff levels and with Glade and Park visitors.
• Specialize in all matters, policies, and procedures of Glade and Forest Park rules and regulations; educate visitors about proper use of landscapes.
• Track and compile Glade security statistics.
• Address ongoing activities related to visitors who are unhoused and reports to other agencies.
• Review the facility rental, programming and events schedules and plan for any associated security needs.
• Conduct regular visits to rented event areas and patrol the Glade site.
• Provide security presence at Glade and Park events, facilities, and programs as assigned.
• Demonstrate knowledge of the Glade’s and Forest Park’s history and landmarks and share information with Park visitors, contractors, and vendors.
• Attend meetings and external agency meetings as necessary.
• Participate in community relations outreach.
• Complete incident reports on issues related to Glade activity and Park activity.
• May perform other operations tasks as needed.
