Responsibilities

• Perform a range of facility operations and maintenance duties under the Sr. Manager of Facilities.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to schedule maintenance and operations without conflicts.
• Support safety and security systems maintenance and ensure compliance with procedures.
• Greet visitors and assist with inquiries to ensure a positive experience.

Forest Park Forever seeks to hire a Facility Management Specialist to join the Department Planning and Park Projects as we expand our facility footprint with opening The Glade, the new 22.5-acre destination in eastern Forest Park including Steinberg Skating Rink. This role will perform a range of facility operations and maintenance duties serving under the Sr. Manager of Facilities, including light building maintenance and management of building maintenance and repair contractors, room setups, room rentals, events support, & assisting with other facility related duties and collaborating with Forest Park Forever staff with a focus on facility operations. In accordance with the Forest Park Forever mission, perform work to restore, operate, maintain & sustain Forest Park Forever facility assets.

Essential Job Functions:

• Perform a range of facility operations and maintenance duties serving under the Sr. Manager of Facilities.
• Work with building custodial staff ensuring Forest Park Forever facilities and surrounding areas are maintained with high-quality standards for cleanliness, orderliness and facility appearance.
• Assist with room rentals, setup/breakdown, locker room memberships, facility maintenance & the coordination of multiple simultaneous visitor and employee uses of Forest Park Forever facilities to prevent space and time conflicts.
• Work and collaborate with key stakeholders or departments to coordinate timing of building maintenance, repair & operations, visitor facility uses and events.
• Assist in the monitoring and maintenance & repair of facility safety and security systems and support Sr. Manager of Facilities in ensuring safety and security standards, policies and procedures. Keep operations current with facility changes and industry standards.
• Greet Park visitors warmly and assist with their inquiries.
• Address Park visitor concerns timely and provide for a positive visitor experience.
• Contribute to team production timelines and adherence to deadlines.
• Provide support to VSR staff including Visitor Service Representatives.
• Work with Security Guards, Park Rangers, and SLMPD to help ensure visitors and staff remain safe.
• Provide support for Forest Park Forever special events.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in facility operations or similar role preferred.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strict attention to detail, accuracy, and high-quality work.
• The normal work schedule for this position is as follows: Tuesday - Saturday; 8 hours per day plus a 30-minute lunch break; Winter season 10:30AM-7PM, Summer season 11:30AM-8PM. This work schedule may be adjusted from time to time based on facility needs and activities.
• Knowledge of building operations safety procedures preferred.
• Interest in parks, green spaces and recreation and their role in individual and community wellbeing and health.
• Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Work Requirements / Work Conditions:

• Operation of computers and other office equipment. Use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and email. Ability to learn and use specialty building operational software, e.g. security, HVAC and building access software.
• Routinely works in outdoor public space and indoor office environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Standing for extended periods of time. Perform physical tasks related to building maintenance and facility operations.
• All work hours to be performed onsite at Forest Park Forever managed facilities or in other Park locations as assigned.
• Traverse uneven park terrain during events and to better understand spaces maintained by Forest Park Forever.
