AMEWAS, Inc. is seeking a junior Access Control Specialist (On-Call, Part Time) to support DAiTA group security operations at Patuxent River, MD. The role emphasizes visitor control, DoD clearance verification, and coordination of meetings and logistics within a DoD-contractor environment.

The position requires DoD Secret Clearance on onboarding, U.S. citizenship, strong MS Office skills, and a customer-focused, detail-oriented mindset. On-site work only; remote options are not available.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Proficiency in MS Office and filing experience.
• Excellent communication with external customers.
• Ability to compartmentalize official documents and follow SOPs.
• DoD Secret Clearance required upon onboarding; US Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and document visitors per security procedures.
• Monitor access to facilities and validate CACs/visas/clearances.
• Provide admin support for meetings and reserve conference rooms.
• Coordinate logistical and security arrangements for attendees.
• Set up IT/AV equipment and arrange catering or snacks.
• Create proxy badges for new employees and process access requests.
• Verify DoD clearances through BASICS II or BASICS BASICS II.
• Enter visitor requests and manage BASICS II entries.
• Sort and distribute mail and ensure SOPs are signed.
• Travel to onsite locations as required and assist in security operations.
