Job summary

RTX in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Secure System Engineer Intern for Summer 2027 within the Embedded Product Cybersecurity team. The role focuses on SSDLC, threat modeling, fuzzing, and developing Python tools to strengthen cyber resilience on embedded systems.

The position is onsite and requires U.S. citizenship/permanent resident status; relocation is eligible and candidates will gain hands-on experience in cybersecurity engineering.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree and enrolled through internship/co‑op.
• Minimum of 60 credit hours by start of internship/co‑op.
• Solid understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals.
• High proficiency in Python and Linux.

Responsibilities

• Support Secure System Engineering to implement SSDLC.
• Develop threat models and perform fuzzing/penetration tests.
• Contribute Python scripts to automate cybersecurity workflows.
• Participate in code reviews and vulnerability assessments.
• Assist with threat modeling and data-flow isolation studies.
