Job summary

RTX is seeking a driven System Security Engineer to join our Embedded Product Cybersecurity Engineering team in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This on-site role focuses on defending mission-critical platforms and integrating with design and development teams to strengthen the Secure System Development Life Cycle (SSDLC).

Qualified candidates will have a STEM degree with relevant experience or an advanced cybersecurity degree, plus Linux development skills and coding in C/C++, Python or Rust, and solid

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 2 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree in Cybersecurity.
• In the absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience required.
• Embedded software development experience in a Linux OS environment.
• Experience coding in C, C++, Python or Rust.
• Networking experience - Layer 2/Layer 3/Layer 4 protocols.

Responsibilities

• Develop threat models / data flow diagrams to isolate data in motion and at rest.
• Implement mandatory access controls (MAC) via SELinux policy development.
• Review code to identify weaknesses in security functions.
• Develop and execute fuzzing and penetration tests to evaluate attack surface.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments of proposed and in-service systems.
• Author and manage cybersecurity certification artifacts in line with standards and customer requirements.
