Job summary

Apex Systems in San Diego is seeking a Software Engineer I to support the NIWC Pacific ITMSS program. This 6-month contract to hire role focuses on developing secure software applications and web services for DoD missions in classified and unclassified environments.

Onsite in San Diego, pay rate $60+ per hour on contract or $125k–$135k salary conversion, with a Secret clearance and IAT Level II certification required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
• Active Secret Clearance required.
• Active IAT Level II Certification required.
• Hands-on experience with Python and JavaScript.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain secure software applications using Python and JavaScript.
• Build and support web applications, APIs, and data integration services using REST, SOAP, and GraphQL.
• Follow DevSecOps, Agile/Scrum, and Test-Driven Development (TDD) methodologies.
• Implement secure coding practices in compliance with DoD standards and DISA STIG requirements.
• Design and maintain database schemas, system architectures, and technical documentation.
• Support system integration activities and collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
