Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Software Engineer I to support a Navy program in San Diego, CA. This role is 100% onsite and requires an active Secret clearance.

Responsibilities include developing secure software in Python and JavaScript, implementing DoD and DISA STIG standards, creating REST/SOAP/GraphQL APIs, and contributing to CI/CD DevSecOps pipelines in both classified and unclassified environments.

Qualifications

• Active Secret Clearance required.
• Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years IT/software engineering experience.
• IAT II certifications (CySA+, Security+, CCNA-Security, GSEC, SSCP).
• Experience developing with JavaScript and Python.
• Experience using Agile/Scrum.
• Experience implementing DISA STIGs.
• OO design within CI/CD DevSecOps and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience developing software in a DoD environment.

Responsibilities

• Engineer and maintain secure, scalable software applications.
• Lead secure software development practices per DoD STIGs.
• Create and optimize web interfaces and APIs (REST, SOAP, GraphQL).
• Advance CI/CD DevSecOps pipelines with TDD and Agile.
• Design and manage database architectures and schemas.
• Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to define requirements and document systems.
