Job summary

Akima Systems Engineering (ASE) in Honolulu, HI, seeks a Help Desk Technician for a temporary mid-shift role with potential to become permanent. The position provides Tier 1 IT support to HQ staff, handling hardware, software, and network issues across offices and travel.

Responsibilities include incident management, ITIL-based service desk operations, and detailed MSR reporting to government stakeholders. A TS clearance and Security+ certification are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CompTIA Security+ certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in service desk or help desk support with basic troubleshooting in hardware, software, and networks.
• Basic level skills in system administration and Active Directory.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact at the service desk for hardware, software, and network issues.
• Facilitate secure and non-secure communications and supervise information systems installation.
• Manage a service desk tool based on ITIL frameworks and handle incident management, service requests, and change/event management.
• Prepare Monthly Status Reports to COR-appointed Technical Assistant.
• Contribute to secure operations of headquarters communications.
