Job summary

Apex Systems is seeking a Software Engineer I to support the NIWC Pacific ITMSS program in San Diego, on site. This role focuses on developing secure software applications and web services for DoD missions in classified and unclassified environments.

Key responsibilities include building secure apps with Python and JavaScript, APIs and data integration using REST, SOAP and GraphQL, and following DevSecOps, Agile/Scrum, and TDD practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/CE or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Active Secret Clearance required.
• Active IAT Level II Certification required (Security+, CySA+, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, or CCNA Security).
• Hands-on experience with Python and JavaScript.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain secure software applications using Python and JavaScript.
• Build and support web applications, APIs, and data integration services (REST, SOAP, GraphQL).
• Follow DevSecOps, Agile/Scrum, and Test-Driven Development practices.
• Implement secure coding in DoD standards and DISA STIG requirements.
• Design and maintain database schemas, system architectures, and technical documentation.
