Nelnet seeks a Senior Security Architect to lead secure-by-design cybersecurity across multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and AI-enabled systems. You will define standards, govern IAM, CSPM, and secure cloud adoption while collaborating with IT, Security, Data Science, and business units.

The role requires 10+ years in IT/security with leadership, and the ability to obtain and maintain security clearance for a government-related contract.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Security or related field.
• 10+ years in IT/security, with 5+ years in leadership.
• 5+ years in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) with native security tools.
• Experience with AI security or ML governance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement secure-by-design cybersecurity components across cloud and on-prem environments.
• Define and enforce secure cloud adoption standards, IAM, network segmentation.
• Design cybersecurity strategies integrating AI/ML components securely.
• Lead secure integration of AI into cloud-native platforms and DevSecOps pipelines.
• Guide security architecture reviews and cloud migrations and third-party integrations.
• Mentor engineers and architects on secure development practices.
