This position offers complex and diverse workloads with the opportunity to help drive process improvements through regulatory changes and information technology. The Withholding Services and Compliance Section (WSCS) administers California's Nonresident and Real Estate Withholding programs. WSCS provides service to Personal Income and Business Entity Taxpayers, Withholding Agents, and Tax Professionals. Through multiple workloads and processes validate withholding forms and ensure withholding credits are available to taxpayers when they file their income tax returns. Perform compliance activities by billing withholding agents for unmet withholding obligations and conducting in-person and virtual outreach activities to key stakeholder groups.
Under the direction of the Filing Compliance Bureau, Assistant Bureau Director, the Administrator III is responsible for the management of Franchise Tax Board's (FTB) Withholding Programs. The policy, program and decisions under the Administrator III’s oversight have significant, statewide impact on FTB’s resident and nonresident withholding programs. Through subordinate managers, the Administrator III will direct the activities of staff in the Withholding Services and Compliance Section.

This position requires 4 or more days in the office per week. It is designated office-centered and may be eligible for some remote work based on departmental guidelines and operational need.
