Job summary

Meridian Charter Schools in Chicago, IL seeks a Temporary Part-Time Section 504 Coordinator to oversee identification, evaluation, eligibility, plan development, implementation, and monitoring under Section 504.

Reporting to the Special Education Manager, you will collaborate with school leaders, teachers, providers, families, and other staff to ensure compliant processes and timely meetings across Meridian campuses. Travel among campuses may be required.

Qualifications

• Active ISBE Endorsement for LBS1.
• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• Experience in K-12 settings and knowledge of Section 504 processes.
• Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to facilitate and chair Section 504 meetings and coordinate plans.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Section 504 referrals, evaluations, eligibility determinations, plan development, and reviews.
• Facilitate and chair Section 504 meetings; ensure team participation.
• Maintain Section 504 documentation; monitor timelines and compliance.
• Engage families; communicate processes, safeguards, and next steps clearly.
• Monitor caseloads, deadlines, and implementation of Section 504 plans.
