Job summary

Meridian Charter Schools in Chicago, IL seeks a Temporary Special Education Coordinator to manage caseloads, lead MTSS initiatives, and coach special education staff during maternity leave coverage. The role reports to the Deputy Chief Education Officer and collaborates across campuses to advance equity and instructional excellence.

The ideal candidate holds an active LBS1, ESL/Bilingual endorsement, and a Master’s in Education or Special Education, with 3+ years in leadership and strong

Qualifications

Active ISBE Endorsement for LBS1 and ESL/Bilingual required; Principal Administrative Endorsement preferred.
Minimum 3 years in a leadership role within an educational setting.
Strong knowledge of IDEA and Section 504.
Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead and coach special education staff; mentor on IEP development and MTSS implementation.
Ensure compliance with federal/state/local regulations (IDEA, Section 504).
Collaborate with Deputy Chief Education Officer and school teams across campuses.
Monitor and improve MTSS processes to support student outcomes.
Represent LEA in IEP/504 meetings and ensure equitable access for students.
